The Catcher In The Rye

I just finished this book. Not my favorite. Kind of depressing. But i thought i'd give it try. Now i need to decide which book to read next. any suggestions?

MO, if you're interested in the 'classics' I've got some musty paperbacks somewhere... catch 22, oxbow incident, etc. also some carl sagan...contact, broca's brain etc. I'll be more than happy to unload them on you!

sure - i'll take you up on that. i'd like to start with ONE that you recommend and then i'll go from there

catch 22 is a good book.
It has a hunter s. thompson vibe to it.
very strange.

Wow, Catcher in the Rye! Yeah, I knew a lot of college age folks who adored that book but it never struck me the way it did others. "Phonies..." etc. After reading a lot of classics in college I've drifted away to more contemporary reads.. having just finished Barbara Kingsolver, I recommend Prodigal Summer, you veggie lover you.
