Fun in the Arenas

The girls had fun at the Tulsa State Fair horse show on Sat. and won a few ribbons. Mostly, they enjoyed hanging out with their horsey friends.

At home on Sunday, Alaina rode Diez for the first time since she got Laminitis and foundered in July. Diez has been on stall rest and has a new diet without green grass. Alaina only rode about 15 min. at the walk only. Diez seemded to enjoy the attention.

Ivy mostly played with Jet the silly pet - they are 2 peas in a pod...

A little bit of stinking rain

After about 5 inches of rain in 24 hours (probably two of it within an hour of these photos) the storm drains on our block were unable to handle the flow of water, The result? Lake Orban! The kids were standing in the middle of the street, here. The rain let up the water subsided and the streets were left cleaner than I can recall.

It's time for the Rogers Co. Fair

Woo Hoo - no rides at the fair this year and only one concession. But there are lots of cows, chickens, ducks, turkeys, pigs, rabbits, dogs, sheep, horses, and a llama. Art work, wood work, photography, produce, sewing, canning, baking, quilts, knitting, flowers, and a couple of really big pumpkins are on display in the expo. A really small selection of vendors. Easy parking since there is no mid-way. We delivered our entries on Wed., helped with horse show speed events Thursday, and worked the steak dinner fund raiser dinner tonight after we washed horses and gathered show things. Tomorrow, we show halter at 10 am, the regular horse show starts at 2 pm with the dog show at 5ish. On Sunday we have the horse fun show at noon and the cloverbud show at 2. Come on down for some county fun.

Them's the Breaks

The girls were running a race with the neighbor boys to get to the big bale of hay. Ivy had the pleasure of falling, breaking both bones in her wrist and coming up second in the race...girls will be boys!

WY and LilyPond

The summer must be over but it sure went out with a bang. I got a chance to ride horses into the mountains outside of Jackson Hole the last weekend of August and had a great time. Check out the pictures on the YaYa blog when you have a moment. http://yayariders.blogspot.com/

I returned from WY just in time to go to Kansas for work and then home in time go to ride night on Thursday, go to our party lesson with Patty on Sat., show dressage at Lily Pond on Sunday and ride at the wild O ranch on Monday afternoon.
Cara, Tom, Will, Brenda and Pete came by on Sat for a horse encounter for Will and Paul and Billy visited to some yard golf, etc. Then, a brief visit from Kale Monday night.

We had a little to much exitement at the show on Sunday when TC, in a wild reaction to mold or ants or ? dumped Ivy just before her class. She went on to ride Pico in her next class and then worked Pico more today. The light today made for some good yard shots.

Meanwhile - Jet jets around the yard... and Steve made Chilli over the weekend so fall must be on the way.
