ALL STATE AL

"Eight student athletic trainers have been selected from across the state - four from the east and four from the west. These student trainers will be afforded the opportunity to serve as student athletic trainers for the All State games to be held this summer in the Tulsa metro area. They will be working the entire All State camp which includes football, basketball, wrestling, and baseball as well as several other sports."

Al was selected as one of the eight. CONGRATS.

Girls and Stuff

Ivy and Alaina rode in a dressage show over the weekend and had good rides even while the wind blew. They also played with dogs, ate candy and snacks, and worked as runners and played some - which can be done when your first rides are at 11:30 and your second don't happen until 3:30. Lots of fun horses to look at and pet and photograph. Digital is great since you don't have to print all 400 pictures on the disk....

Both girls had projects about mysteries - Alaina studied the Lock Ness Monster and made a diorama showing the lake, castle and Nessie. Ivy was interested in the escape from Alcatraze. Alaina is now a believer in Nessie and Ivy and her partner are making a model of the dummy left in the bed when the escapees escaped. So, inspired by Brandon...... Ivy modeled with Baby Alan....

Bug

It seems as if perhaps spring may be here at last. The buds that survived last week's freezes are blooming, the birds all seem to be busy finding mates and building nests and the allergy sufferers are suffering. We've all managed to get one last little bug with sore throat, drippy nose and hacking cough...ahh, spring! Looks like next week's weather will be good for finally getting that garden started. I swear I'm going to have tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers this year!

Back in the Saddle

I love technology. It allows us to exchange information, ideas and even money with a few keystrokes and a click of the mouse. Unfortunately, technology failed me the past couple of days as my modem finally bit the dust. But today technology shines again. A new modem in place and an itch to get going, I'm back at the keyboard again. Yee-Haah!...If I haven't already sent you an invite to post on "As Crows Fly" please let me know...by the way DG, your invite was sent with great gladness in my heart!

When the Levee Breaks

Lots of introspection over the last week or so. I've been trying to expand my artistic eye while taking care of the everyday duties we've all got to deal with.
While I'd like to keep this "blog" alive as a cyber-bulletin board I'm starting another blog to post ongoing art projects and off-the-wall thought. Hope you'll come along. Click title for link.

Montana

Howdy folks. This will no doubt come as a surprise. The Wild Orban Ranch is pulling up stakes and moving to Montana. Cathy has an opportunity to oversee operations on a miniature horse ranch. (pygmy ponies)
More details later.
