Begin Again

May be a little early, but with the warm temps I had to get tomatoes and peppers started. The tomatoes in the photo are from plants started a year ago, transplanted to the garden in the spring and then uprooted and brought into the greenhouse before the first frost this past fall. Still have a few on the vine as well as new blossoms. Can't claim year-round tomatoes yet, but hopefully they're in our future.

Busy busy busy!

Christmas break was busy at our house! Cara turned 30, & helped Will & Amy make cute Gingerbread real estate. Will & Emory experienced the magic of Santa, Will played some tunes for us. But best of all, Papa Pete got to spend a lot of time with his boys!

Happy Holidays! Hello 2012!

2012 has gotten off to a lovely start - weather wise - although I am back at work and not riding the range.  The last few weeks of December included the usual holiday frenzy - Kale was home and the girls turned 13.  Check the link for more photos -

Welcome back, my friends. . . .

. . . to the show that never ends.

Over three years ago I had a conversation with Steve about my desire to digitize all of the old Gramblin 8mm home movies. After a few false starts and bumps in the road (and one complete do-over) they are finally complete. The first clip begins about a month before the 1983 Fourth of July and go through Christmas of '88 when we got our first camcorder. I've created a YouTube playlist of all 32 videos. While some of these videos are very Gramblin specific and hard to watch even if you ARE the fuzzy moving dot playing soccer, most of the films are of our trips back to Oklahoma or when family would travel to see us where ever we lived. With each video I've added a small, and very incomplete, description. Please feel free to add to or correct what is on there because my ultimate goal would be to package everything in a way that tells as complete a story as possible for those who are watching in the future and are wondering who all those strange people in short shorts and tall socks were. I hope these bring a little joy to everyone as we start the new year. Come and see the show.

Happy New Year

Hope everyone's new year is off to a good start. While doing my morning chores this morning I spotted a bald eagle flying overhead. If this signifies a portent of the coming year then I suppose it's better than a circling flock of vultures.
