No snow here!

Before the Big Bad Blizzard arrived, Cara & family visited Myrtle Beach, SC. Mr. Will loved playing in the sand and checking out the ocean. I think a curious pidgeon was checking him out!

Snowmagedon. Tulsa Style.

Mid-town is a veritable tropical paradise. A mere 14 inches of snow and an afternoon full of sunshine. Aimee and Jaden waded into the blizzard during the a.m., but the sidewalk and driveway shoveling waited until the afternoon when the major flakes had quit falling. Jaden and I built ghetto-sleds from cardboard and rode down the small drifts in the yard. Cecilia was the only smart one in the whole group, she stayed in all day. Overall, it was a good snow day.

The BIG BLIZZARD of '11

Temperatures are falling tonight after the Wild Orban Ranch was inundated with 20 inches of blowing snow.  The snow has moved east but the clearing sky means temperatures will fall to 5 below tonight.  Yikkes, that may be the coldest temperature I can remember since I moved to OK in 1980.

Sister, Diez and Pico are in the big barn with windows and doors closed but they are wearing winter horse bankets.  Sunny and Splash are in the pole barn with no wall to the east but they have blankets and heat lamps to stand under.

Steve takes hot water to the barn several times a day.

The extreme cold and blowing snow made the weather pretty unsuitable for playing, but the girls took the dog out for a bit and Jet jetted around spraying snow in his wake.

Ivy captured this hawk picture after she saw him swoop in to capture a small bird from our birdfeeding station out the back door - he was fast but left a couple of feathers in the snow.

Claremore schools are closed again tomorrow and perhaps the weather will be suitable for outdoor snowplay - Ivy and Alaina go out long enough to feel they are entitled to Hot Chocolate - its winter afterall and you can get a chill just looking out the window.  HaHa.

So, the girls get another day off school and I will work form home tomorrow.  Don't know when we will be able to drive down the driveway.....
