Reminder

Summertime rolls around and chicken hits the grill...actually we grill year round but "Buckwheat's BBQ Wings" are reserved for the warm weather months. This batch of wings reminded me that a year or so ago I mentioned getting a family cookbook together so I guess it's about time I get it going.

Buckwheat's (little Tony Tantillo) wings is one of those simple recipes that can be and has been altered to one's own taste. Though I don't remember exact measurements I don't think they're really necessary, but here are the basics.*
1/2 lb wings or drumettes per serving
vinegar
salsa or rotel
salt, pepper or seasoning of your choice
your favorite bbq sauce
water (combined with other ingredients to cover chicken in a pot).
Bring to a boil then remove from heat and set aside while charcoals heat.
When fire is ready place wings on grill turning frequently while basting with liquid from pot. When chicken is nearly to your liking baste with bbq sauce and finish grilling. Best served with pan fried potatoes,(recipe coming soon) cool cucumber salad,(anybody got a recipe?) and fresh out of the garden corn on the cob...napkin please!
*Approximate ratios are 1 cup vinegar, 1 cup salsa, 4 cups water, 1/2 cup bbq. Seasoning to taste.
