Doggone piece of concrete sat there for 40 years but had to go to make room for a new tree. It put up a good fight but in the end succumbed. Maybe it will spend the next forty years in it's new spot.
Many fond memories held in that piece of concrete. Scraped knuckles, battered shins and minor concussions weren't enough to dampen our enthusiasm for a "swim" once the Oklahoma summer set in. We explored the mighty amazon (Sammy made a terrifying gator), searched for sunken treasure (most challenging after midsummer algae growth) and swam with exotic wildlife (poor box turtles). One of dad's best ideas ever - entertained generations!

That tree has a tough act to follow. May it bring as much adventure, joy and 'cool' as that concrete box did.
