Don't Get Excited

It's only tomatoes.
Ready to be transplanted. It's only March but the garden is beckoning. Don't want to jump the gun but feel compelled to get some of these planted.

If I were a groundhog, seeing those go into the ground would have me thinking about starting to wake up- Chomp!
Do you have groundhogs?
From a web search:
"I can't speak for all groundhogs, but one ate every ripe tomato in my garden last year. There was nothing left except the little scabby bits from the stem end. The tomatoes were not his first selection, but once he had had a go at the lettuce and parsley he apparently decided that I had set out a salad bar for him and that it would be rude not to try everything."

Plant a few extra's for me, please! As we will probably move back out to the country, once Kiah graduates, I'm not bothering with a garden this year, so....
Sorry 'bout the wildlife problem, lemonade. As is my usual advice in these situations, be glad you were able to provide for someone (or thing!). Also, you might look for a good groundhog casserole recipe.

As the defacto DJ, I'm going to spin this next one, and send it out to Uncle Packer Fan. I too dream of the day I find myself in a country home.

Don't know about groundhogs but moles can be a problem. Supposedly planting castor beans near your garden will keep them away. Castor beans produce ricin which is deadly to just about anything, thus Oklahoma legislature wants growing them outlawed...sheesh, git the guvm'nt outa my garden!
As far as the maters go, I'll be happy to share if I get anything to share. Taters, onions, peas & carrots going in this week and I'm already behind.
