Begin Again

May be a little early, but with the warm temps I had to get tomatoes and peppers started. The tomatoes in the photo are from plants started a year ago, transplanted to the garden in the spring and then uprooted and brought into the greenhouse before the first frost this past fall. Still have a few on the vine as well as new blossoms. Can't claim year-round tomatoes yet, but hopefully they're in our future.

But how do they taste?

Ohh, tomatoes. That's inspiring to think of this time of year! I'll bet they taste better than the store tomatoes, at any rate...

Amazing! Will the surviving plants continue to produce the second year?

Them 'maters are purty good - not July fab but way better than store bought. The main problem is inadequate volume - I eat them ALL unless Ivy gets to them first.

They're John Baer tomatoes,2008 lot. Supposedly good for hothouse growing. While they were in the garden they produced tennis ball size fruit but now only ping pong ball size. They seem to have more or less run their course but still getting a few new blossoms. I'll keep watering them and see what happens.
