Summer Project

Paul & I have been building stringed instruments. Here's his the first one. Rough around the edges and heavy in your hands it plays & sounds something like a guitar.
Next up: a mandolin (or a reasonable facsimile thereof)

That's pretty cool guys. What kind of wood did you use?

First one was scraps of luan with aq cedar neck. Next one is a little polar, pine and and oak. Trying to build them from stuff we already have and bits & pieces we can buy for now. Once we think we have an idea what we're doing, I'll splurge and buy some spruce, mahogany or maple. The one you gave me many moons ago appears to have a cedar front. Lining (layering) them apparently can change the sound, so we'll have to try that, too.
