Seeing the Trees

Thanks for the comments and compliments. It's good to know you're looking in. I was inspired by PrairyErth's post, how not to walk in the prairie; now trying to see what is at my feet and near at hand as opposed to something on the far horizon. Sometimes we can "not see the forest for the trees" but I believe the reverse can also be true. We become so overwhelmed by the forest we become blind to the trees. My posts with 'purty pitchures' and disjointed prose are merely an attempt to stoke the engine in my heart and mind to create and enjoy. It's much more fun than wandering aimlessly in the forest. Looking forward to more comments as well as posts of your own meanderings.

What you say is so true. i definitly get lost - not looking to the horizon or appreciating what's right in front - sometimes it takes suttle things to make it turn around, and sometimes a bonk on the head.

speaking of trees....I climbed to the uppermost branches of several trees this past month - once to rescue a kitty, three other times to fell trees within narrow confines - and found renewed fervor for risk taking. I believe I do my favorite (best?) work when my inhibitions and fears are overcome.
Showing others what I'm working on or sharing what I'm suffering through or delighting in do not come naturally and requires a good deal of perceived risk.
Your artwork and insight remind and inspire me (& i'm sure others) to share, also.

Yeah, it's tough to 'show yourself'. It seems to be easier to just watch and wait but you know it's more fulfilling to take the plunge, or for that matter, just taking any steps at all.
