Earthquake right down Tornado Alley

Like Godzilla stomping around in King Kongs territory! The latest I heard was Saturday nights rumbler was 5.6, a big brother to the 5.2 that passed through the neighborhood early Saturday morning. Aftershock or a hint of things to come?
Wow!

This is pretty amazing! Did anyone else feel it? It is probably a good idea to find out how to prepare for an earthquake, since Oklahoma had about 1000 this year, and they are growing in strength. Here is a pretty good website with info on preparedness and survival, as well as a link to realtime earthquake monitoring around the world:

We felt it and heard it at the Wild Orban Ranch. While we were watching the news discuss the earthquake in the early morning hours. Probably should take a moment to learn about "what to do"

Kaitlynne was having her 10th birthday sumber party. Can you imagine 9 screaming kids on sugar and no sleep? What a night!

Those are big enough to get you asking what is going on- we live with an unspoken dread of them out here (oops I just spoke of it) When that first jolt hits, my stomach just drops and I am immediately reminded how small I am in relation to the earth and the forces of nature that act upon it- it is a humbling experience and I immediately feel like I should sacrifice a goat to placate the gods, or at least put some water, batteries and beef jerky in a closet for emergency use. But then the memory of the experience fades, daily life events distract, and concern for the "big one" is replaced with concern for the thousands of little ones that comprise a day. That is, until the next rumble of the unsettled tectonic plates... We live within 5 miles of a decommissioned nuclear plant. After seeing Japan's Fukushima reactor go down to a Tsunami, we realized that the location of our reactor at the mouth of the bay is going to equate trouble if a very large earthquake occurs and it is followed by a tsunami- many factors are involved in creating this scenario, but the stored fuel rods leaking radioactive material is one possible outcome as demonstrated at Fukushima Daiichi. you may have seen our local dog hero bravely signal to its owner moments before our last earthquake in 09' to find safe cover: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MFzcl-kZHo
