Nowata Thanksgiving Festivities

Even though Halloween was just last week, Thanksgiving was upon us.

The temperature plunged into the thirties outside, but inside the Orban Clan was hot in the kitchen.

The food, as always, was delicious and plentiful - the beautiful Turkey was surrounded by 4 kinds of cranberries, stuffing (in and out of bird), mashed taters, bacon/potato casserole, cauliflower, broccoli/rice casserole, cucumber salad, and GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE.

Oh yes, and lots of gravy.

We were all stuffed before deserts could be served.

Baby Sean and Baby Ethan made their first Nowata Thanksgiving.

Some people braved the cold and took a walk to Galor and others played a pretty rough game of football.  Cracked heads and sore muscles were generated.

I am thankful for all my family - and missed all who were not with us at the homestead.

PS - Christmas will be here in a FLASH!

Out Standing in his field.......

Hi family, We received this email and photo from Joe, I hope you enjoy it. His 2010 season as an archaeologist is over:

Hey guys, today is my last day of work, its a little sad, but i have alot to look forward to this winter. Thank you for your love, patience and support to me and my family, this year has been particularly difficult for us. I dont keep track of miles but quantify my job in acres, over 5000 this year. I have spent this week in the office finalizing multi year projects and putting the finishing touches on reports. Becca and Orin hold down the fort and excitedly await the addition.
time for me to take a deep breath, relax, and jump into preperation for Sprout! ( A.K.ASproutacus)

Scared of the DARK? Happy Halloween!

The Halloween festivities started Friday and lasted all weekend.  The girls went to a Halloween Party/fundraiser for a classmate with cancer on Friday night, Saturday fun included the 4-H Horse Club party/hayride at the Hays' Ranch all afternoon followed by the family costume party at the J&J Cornerstone haunted warehouse, then trick-or-treating in the usual neighborhood on Sunday night.  We spotted Elvis singing in his driveway.

Competition for best costume at the Haunted Warehouse was FIERCE.   Although Pantsquatch came out on top, Igor was frightening indeed.  HangMan was creepy, Ab and Miss Souther Bell represented North and South, EMO Peter Pan and BraveHeart gave one pause. Athena and Cleopatera were georgeous, and the Forest Ranger and several Bears were spotted as well as the Mummy and her top Banana, Patton, the Devil, the Rabid Woodsman and Pink Poodle Girl, SuperBaby, two Ghosts, the Tribe and more.

Way fun party.  For ALL the Pictures, check out the link by clicking the post title.
