Aurora Borealis

Just in case you were wondering what all the smoke was over the horizon late Sunday, it was Pete's cake....LOL. Yes, there were 55 candles on that cake, all thanks to Amy. (The buzzard was my idea..hee hee). Happy Birthday, we love ya!

Took this from the kitchen window. these 3 guys have been buzzing around on the back porch between feeders and chasing each other. i like at one point one looks like he slowed his wings down real slow. (the wasp in front may be the one i got big by on monday). if you have sound on, ignore the potato chip crunching :)

The Old Camperoo

The heat was turned down a bit for the annual Spencer Creek Campout and the gang gathered at the usual spot for tenting, fishing, grillin' and chillin' - and philosophizing.

Amy and Kiah raced boats, Ivy and Jake performed underwater hand stands, Alaina played croquet with her uncles and cousins, Margret and John rotisseried chicken, Jan made chili and queso, Steve grilled meat, Kale made more queso - and that was only the action I saw when I was visiting the camp site. Jackie and Aime visited long enough to get hot but we had enough coolers for all.

Sam biked up for the evening, David and Jaden threw rocks in the water and everyone had a fun time.

Splash had a chiropractic appointment Friday afternoon, so I visited a bit and then went to Claremore to haul Splash over to Owasso and then went back to the lake for the evening. Pico and I had a horse show on Sat. and Brenda came with me Sat. evening to hang out with the gang before we headed back to Claremore to watch a movie in air conditioned comfort.

Sunday, the campers packed up and went home to recover and dream of next year's campout.

Emerson and Sara were married on Monday, August 2, at the San Francisco City Hall, with members of their immediate families in attendance. Congratulations and best wishes for a happy future!!
